I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University in Exercise Sports Science/pre-med and a Masters of Science in Science Education from Montana State University. I have been teaching at Northglenn High School since 2007. I have taught chemistry, CP chemistry, AP chemistry, ecology, anatomy and physiology, Project Lead the Way Human Body Systems, and forensic science. I am a master teacher for the PLTW Human Body System curriculum and currently I serve as the instructional leader for the science department at Northglenn High School and a site coordinator for PLTW.
Prior to teaching, I worked for the Colorado Ballet for 12 years as the Coordinator of Dance Medicine and Certified Athletic Trainer, where I took care of evaluation, rehabilitation, and coordination of dancer injuries. I hope you will find my wide range of experience beneficial as I try to demonstrate the link between all sciences and real world applications.
I love the outdoors, love to read, and have a wonderful husband and two amazing sons.
My Classroom
It is my goal as a teacher to prepare students for life beyond high school. I will make you think. I will teach you to solve problems and think critically. I will teach you to appreciate science and the interaction science has with the world around you. I hope you will learn to question how things work and why they work. I hope to challenge you everyday and I will support you everyday along the way. This is going to be a great year!
